FAQ's

Medical tourism refers to the phenomenon where individuals travel from their home country to another nation to obtain medical, dental, or surgical services. This practice often arises from the desire for more affordable healthcare, improved access to services, or a higher standard of care than what is available domestically.

Essentially, medical tourism can be characterized as the planned journey abroad with the objective of restoring, maintaining, or enhancing one's health and well-being. Travelers are typically attracted to destinations that provide lower costs and reduced waiting times for healthcare services. A typical medical trip may include several days dedicated to medical treatment, followed by time spent in rehabilitation facilities, and concluding with leisure activities such as sightseeing. Thus, medical tourism encompasses not only the pursuit of medical care but also the opportunity to explore a new country and enjoy a relaxing experience akin to a vacation.

Patients often choose to travel abroad for medical tourism due to the combination of high-quality treatment available at a reasonable price, as well as the avoidance of lengthy waiting periods for medical appointments. This option is particularly appealing for those seeking medical, surgical, dental, wellness, or other forms of care while also wishing to achieve the following: significant cost savings, minimal waiting times, access to superior healthcare, a brief holiday experience, and the chance to immerse themselves in a different culture.

The expenses associated with medical procedures in India can be as much as 80% lower than those for equivalent procedures in the United States. The country has emerged as a prominent destination for medical tourism, offering high-quality healthcare services at significantly reduced prices.
